Immigrant Human Services Task Force - Immigrant Human Services Task Force

Louisville Metro Immigrant Human Services Task Force

Vision
Louisville is a diverse, inclusive, prosperous and progressive community that values diversity.

Mission
Louisville Metro Government values a community where immigrants and refugees experience stable family life and family self-sufficiency.
To accomplish the above, Louisville Metro Government has an Immigrant Human Services Task Force with the following Goal:

Goal
Human Service agencies, organizations and personnel who work with immigrants and refugees will be a resource to each other in a way that leads to action.

Process
The Louisville Metro Office for International Affairs and the Department for Human Services collaborate to provide staff support to a Task Force whose goal is to address human service issues within our growing international community. Chaired by Terry Singer, Ph.D., Dean of Kent School of Social Work, University of Louisville, this group includes immigrants and refugees as well as representatives of service providing agencies and organizations. The ultimate goal is to identify barriers faced by the refugees and immigrants and to promote public policy and practice that will improve their ability to become full and productive residents of Louisville.
